Broken hearts...
I watched "Brokeback Mountain" by myself late last night. What a beautiful movie, and what a shame that ignorant people have characterized it simply based on the fact that the love story is between two men. Love is love, however and by whomever it's expressed. Who among us doesn't have some deep love that was never requited, some incredible yearning for a person we couldn't have? I know I do, heck - I think I have a whole separate part of my heart just for that feeling, it's so powerful. And oh, the wide open skies and soaring spaces in this movie make you want to reach for that feeling and allow the two main characters to feel it without limitations. If they get to feel that way, maybe we all will someday... A good movie makes us empathize right? Makes us think a little more deeply about our own lives. I know last night and this morning as I dig around inside myself it did that for me. The world is far from fair, but I'm left with the thought that we should make loving one another as simple, good and without judgement as we can. Let go of what you think love should be and let it happen. Hold on to it.
